Hoops and High Heels Inc. held its inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Basketball Showcase. The event was held at Grace Brethren Christian School in Clinton, Maryland; and a special appearance was made by WNBA forward Tianna Hawkins of the Washington Mystics. The participants in the event were as follows: The Grace Brethren Christian School Varsity/Junior Varsity Boy’s Basketball Teams as well as a special alumni team, Havoc City Elite Women’s Basketball Program,  and a special team brought by Tianna Hawkins herself.

TiannaDuring this fun and exciting event, Tianna Hawkins of the Washington Mystics made one of our participant’s dream come true!  As the fan notices her all-time favorite player since she dominated at the University of Maryland College Park, she grabs our Founder – Shannon Bryant – to introduce her for a picture. Click here to check out the video.

All of the proceeds earned from the event went towards the ‘Passionately Pink Foundation’ by Susan G. Komen which raises awareness and action towards finding a cure for breast cancer. Hoops and High Heels looks forwards to holding many events of this nature for a variety of causes which impact people’s lives on all levels. And of course, this was another opportunity to highlight youth sports and promote a fun atmosphere that everyone can enjoy.
